ADEBAYOR BIGS UP MIDFIELD

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has said that he is extremely happy with the contribution from the midfield of Tottenham this season. Tottenham signed West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker in the summer. He has proven to be a massive influence on the team alongside Luka Modric. He has been one of the reasons for Tottenham to challenge for a top three position in the Premier league. Harry Redknapp also brought in Brazilian midfielder Sandro in order to replace Wilson Palacios. Sandro has been excellent for Tottenham in the middle of the park according to Adebayor.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored the penalty against Aston Villa, which gave Tottenham at least a point from the match. Despite being down to 10 men, Tottenham dominated the remaining period of the match. It would have given them great confidence ahead of their last match of the season against Fulham. Tottenham will go into the match with a real sense of belief that they can finish in the top three after having seen Arsenal only draw against Norwich at home. Arsenal will be making the trip to West Brom on the final day of the season, while competitors Newcastle look to be out of the run-in.

“You can definitely take Sandro and Scott Parker to war, because they can take a bullet for you no matter what happens. I think Sandro showed it again at Villa. The manager has given him a lot of confidence. We all believe in him because we all know what he can do. We see him in training every day and he proved it again because with one man down he can still do the job for us. Hopefully, we can keep going,” he told Spurs TV Online ahead of the match against Fulham at White Hart Lane.

REDKNAPP KEEN ON ADEBAYOR

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has said that the club will be interested in signing Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal only the striker is willing to take a pay cut to move to White Hart Lane. Emmanuel Adebayor is on a loan deal from Manchester City till the end of the season.

He was ineligible to play against Manchester city in the recent match between the two clubs – a match in which Tottenham last narrowly 3-2 at the very last moment. The absence of Emmanuel Adebayor is thought be one of the reasons behind Tottenham losing the match against Manchester city.

Despite being one of the important players for Tottenham this season, manager Harry Redknapp has said that the club will not be taking any pains towards signing the striker. This is because Emmanuel Adebayor is not only expected to cost around £ 30 million in transfer fees, but is also going to command a hefty wage as well. He is currently thought to be running around £ 160,000 per week, thus making him one of the best paid players in England. He has moved to Tottenham on a loan deal only because Manchester City are subsidising a major portion of his wages.

“The other week, one of the lads told him that he had not paid his £50 fine for being the worst player in training on a Friday morning. One of the lads said to him: ‘Bloody hell, Ade, you are on 200 grand a week and you can’t afford to pay a £50 fine!’ He replied: ‘Don’t insult me, it’s 225!’ He has done well for us. He has worked hard but he is on amazing money,” Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said when asked about the prospects of signing Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal.
